Common Questions
Is bamboo charcoal better than regular charcoal?
Yes. Regular charcoal relies on scrap wood and chemical binders — up to 40% fillers. BAM is 100% pure bamboo, burning hotter and longer with no fillers or binders added.
Does BAM burn hotter?
With zero limestone fillers, BAM easily reaches 900°F+, far exceeding standard briquettes, which are limited by non-combustible limestone fillers.
Does it affect the flavor of the meat?
BAM burns without the byproducts of fillers and binders — letting your meat's natural flavor come through.
What grills is it compatible with?
All charcoal-based cookers: standard kettles, ceramic kamado grills (Big Green Egg, Kamado Joe), and offset smokers.
Why is it low ash?
Ash is mostly the byproduct of fillers — sand and limestone — in cheap charcoal. Because BAM is pure bamboo carbon (88.2%), nearly 100% of the fuel burns away, leaving minimal ash residue (4.6%).
