Why BAM Exists

You deserve to know what's cooking your food.

Most people assume charcoal is just charcoal. It isn't.

01
The Hidden Filler Problem

You're not buying fuel. You're buying filler.

Standard briquettes are compressed wood char mixed with fillers, binders, mineral coal, and press lubricants.

02
The Transparency Problem

Where does it actually come from?

BAM was built as a direct answer to this problem.

03
The Push for Purity

Pitmasters started asking questions.

Pure bamboo carbon. No fillers. No mystery ingredients.

Better fuel.
Cleaner cook.
Better planet.

Bamboo grows back in 3–5 years. Hardwood forests take decades. Choosing BAM isn't just a decision about your grill — it's a decision about what kind of supply chain you want to support. Pure fuel, transparent sourcing, and a product that doesn't cost the planet to make.

Our Story

Why we
built BAM.

BAM started with a simple question nobody could answer.

We were grilling one night and looked down at the bag of charcoal we'd been using for years. We turned it over. Read the label. And realized we had no idea what was actually in it.

Limestone. Fossil coal. Chemical binders. Sawdust. Things that weren't fuel — things that were just filler. And nobody seemed to care.

We cared.

So we started asking questions. What is charcoal actually made of? Where does it come from? What burns when we cook? What ends up in the air around our food? The answers were harder to find than they should have been.

That's when we found bamboo.

Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants on the planet — it regenerates in three to five years, not decades. And when it's carbonized properly, it produces an exceptionally high fixed carbon content. Hot. Clean. Efficient. Almost no ash. Nothing added.

We spent the better part of a year building a supply chain entirely within the United States — from the bamboo itself to the carbonization to the packaging. Every step domestic. Every ingredient one: bamboo.

We had it tested by an independent third-party laboratory. We put the results on our website. We didn't hide anything.

BAM isn't the cheapest charcoal you'll find.
It's the cleanest.
